Still no soap, but .....

Well, I still haven't made any soap recently, but I've got itchy fingers to start again so it's on the horizon.

In the meantime, just a couple of bits and bobs I've played around with when I'm not dashing around between work & family or just collapsing in a heap on the settee....

A couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine was wearing a lovely, snuggly soft neckwarmer she'd made and being a slight yarn addict I couldn't get it out of my head. So, you just have to give in to the urge sometimes and I trotted off and bought a ball of Rowan Cocoon yarn in a shade called Kiwi. A departure for me as I'm not really a green kind of a girl, but it's a really subtle colour. I can't remember the last time I knitted anything so I had a play about and eventually worked out a cable pattern for myself. I'm quite pleased with the end result - fingers crossed it doesn't make me itch or I'll have to give it away.

Today being a wet, grey Sunday some choccie brownies have suddenly appeared in my kitchen as a counterbalance to the yukky weather. Made with dark choccie, cranberries & coconut, they're all squidgy in the middle and I may or may not have had a smallish nibble already. Bliss. Oh, and they're non-dairy so I can scoff the lot. (And I blame Lululiz entirely for putting the thought in my head as she was bragging about scoffing Tiffin she'd made yesterday).

Now that I've got a new beading lamp, I've been playing about with this pattern I got from the last issue of Bead & Button magazine. It's a bit fiddly and I've questioned whether or not to carry on, but I've been told to keep going so I'll perservere. All will be revealed when it's finished. I've got so many beady things I want to do, I feel a fairly major beady shopping accident coming on. Yipee.

Hope you're all having a happy, crafty Sunday.

Well you have had a creative weekend my dearest. Nice to see you popping into blogland once again. That is a really lovely pattern for your scarf and I have to say the colour name is rather homely for myself. If the wool is as soft as a kiwi you'll be just fine.

Still waiting for Queen Liz to tell me what on earth Tiffin is?? Your brownie is looking delicious!

Beading is not something I've ever tried but I'm quite sure that's looking rather tricky. It does look really pretty so you really must finish it. Will it be a bracelet? Or maybe you could stop now and make a ring? Be a bit quicker.

I have been quite creative haven't I? Bit exhausted now as I failed to mention earlier the homemade pizza (non-yeasty base, and goat's cheese) I made from scratch, and the homemade carrot & orange soup.

I did think of you when I found out the name of the colour. I think it suits it too, and it's so gorgeous to work with.

The brownie - well I wasn't sure about it earlier so I thought I ought to test a bit more, but this time warmed up with a dollop of non-dairy icecream. Yep, it'll do.

Not telling what the beady thing is going to be, and I'm going as fast I can. You been taking bossing lessons from a certain Queen Liz? Blimey.

Tehehehehe, I like Sarah's bit " be a bit quicker ". Sounds just like me!
Now, you have been a busy little bee, haven't you? The neckwarmer is gorgeous. It looks incredibly complicated though, I don't think I'll be making one in a hurry.
Drool drooooool over the bracelet. That looks just awesome, darned fine colours, too. I suppose by now you have had your major bead shopping accident, lol. I'll expect a full report on what you have ordered.
Oh, and I am ignoring the brownies, you ALWAYS bring up food when we talk and thats so not fair, you are making me put on weight!!!

You have definitely been giving that Sarah lessons, I can tell.

I may have had a beady accident, not gonna tell now.

Me bringing up food? ME? Hmph. Wasn't me bragging earlier about making cheesecake.

Oh no no no!!! I didn't mean it that way! I just missed out a few too many words I guess. I meant it would be a bit quicker if you made a ring!!! Oh dear now you're all talking about how jolly rude I am once again and this time I didn't even deserve it. Oh dear.

Aww Sarah. That's so funny. See, the thing is, I'm bossed about so much, as you know, that I automatically read things as orders these days. Heehee.
