Rooting around in the shed, I found this. This is the last ditch attempt - after this, I give up...
Ta da!. Must be the world's best-protected courgette, surely...

Yes Jo I do think you might be right there! It looks a bit like a walled in prison too. The shells do add a pretty touch. What happens when the plant grows?
